What a typical day looks like as a Teacher

Teachers usually start their classes between 8 and 10 a.m. However, this doesn’t mean that they will not have to do anything before this time.

Especially young teachers have to spend lots of time preparing classes and this means that you often have to get up at 5 a.m., get to work at 6 and prepare for a few hours before the actual classes start. You will usually finish your classes around 3 p.m.

However, your workday will not be over yet. You will still have to correct assignments and many teachers will therefore not finish their workday before 6 p.m.

Hence, even though you will not spend long hours on your actual classes, you will still have to work at least 40 hours per week as a teacher and often even much more.
